1st social media influencers summit set

/ 07:25 AM March 07, 2013

MORE than 300 bloggers, digital entrepreneurs, online personalities, and members of the academe, youth sector, business sector, non-government organizations and government institutions will convene for the first Social Media Influencers Summit 2013 on March 16 at the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City.

Carrying the theme, “Trending + Forward”, the summit will highlight how social media provides a venue for companies and individuals to promote their products and how social media influencers reach out to and influence these products’ target audiences.

“The ultimate goal of any ‘social media influencer’ is to create a buzz for its cause to be a trending topic in the social media networks. But buzz is not created by all. It is practiced responsibly by those who had mastered it. And this craft is fast changing with the dynamic preference and attitudes of the social media users,” explained Ruben Licera Jr., president of Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. (CBSI).
