Poll peace pact to be inked in CV
THE Police Regional Office 7 will convene politicians and political groups in Central Visayas for a peace covenant.
Focus of the covenant in Cebu would be the 4th district which the Commission on Election (Comelec) already listed in its election watchlist areas (Ewas).
Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, regional police director, said the signing of a peace covenant would be done in Cebu City on March 10.
Organizers and participants will hold a unity walk that will end at the Archbishop’s residence before the peace covenant signing.
Aside from candidates and political parties, government agencies, and civil society organizations will also be asked to sign the covenant.
The non-partisan groups that will be asked to sign are the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Comelec, the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the National Police Commission, the Department of Education, the Commission on Higher Education, Dilaab Foundation, C-Cimpel, Muslim community groups and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
