Class 2003, Batch ‘88 win in Cecaba caging

Dimsum Frito 2003 and Dewfoam ’88 came away victorious over the weekend after they beat separate opponents during the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Joey Catipay took center stage as he submitted 34 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals, to power Dimsum Frito 2003 to a 59-45 win over Wild Rice 2007 while Class ’88 banked on a second-quarter explosion to beat Fil-Ann 2009, 51-45.

Dimsum Frito took control of the game in the third period where they extended a slim six-point advantage to 17 heading to the final canto. They never looked back from there on the way to notch its sixth win in eight starts.

Earlier, Richard Yu charted 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Gregorio Aguilar, Jr.  added 10 points and three rebounds as Class ’88  bettered its win-loss record to 6-3.
