Only 3 Team PNoy bets show up in Sultan Kudarat sortie
TACURONG, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines—Team PNoy senatorial candidates returned to Mindanao on Tuesday for a three-day campaign.
But only three of the 12 candidates showed up in a rally held at the Cultural Center of Tacurong City. They were former Senators Ramon Magsasay Jr. and Jamby Madrigal, and former Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros.
The three were also the only Team PNoy candidates who have not yet joined the “Magic 12” based on pre-election surveys conducted by various polling firms.
The rally was scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. but the candidates arrived close to 11 a.m.
Senator Franklin Drilon, campaign manager of the team, joined the senatorial bets and local officials on stage.
Article continues after this advertisementLike in the past, other administration bets were represented by family members, like ree-electionist Senator Antonio “Sonny” “Trillanes IV and Bam Aquino, who were represented by their respective wives.
Article continues after this advertisementFrom Tacurong, the team will motorcade to Koronadal City and then to Polomok, South Cotabato for another campaign sortie.
On Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino III was expected to join the candidates in a rally, which will be held in General Santos City. From this city, the group will travel to Davao to woo voters there on the same day.
Team PNoy will conclude its campaign trail in Tagum City before going back to Manila on Thursday.
The team was also in this region last week although only few candidates showed up when they campaigned in Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon.
