Village watchman slain QC
MANILA, Philippines–A barangay (village) watchman was gunned down by motorcycle-riding assailants in Quezon City Monday morning, the authorities said.
Joseph Dacara, 34, was killed as he was chatting with a neighbor near his house in Barangay Payatas B at around 5:10 a.m.
SPO1 Randy Bantillo, case investigator, quoted witnesses as saying two men on a motorcycle were involved in the shooting.
One of the men shot Dacara several times until he fell. The assailants then sped away, leaving behind three empty cartridges and two deformed .45 cal. slugs.
Bantillo said the victim suffered gunshot wounds in the head and torso.
The police were still determining if the killing was related to Dacara’s job as a barangay watchman.
