Cebuano Donayre KOs foe in URCC

CEBUANO Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Vaughn “The Spawn” Donayre proved he is not just lethal when it comes to ground games but also sharp with his striking as he knocked out Manila’s Robet Buminaang in the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC)–Unleashed last Saturday night at the Baguio Convention Center.

Donayre, who hails from the Yawyan Ardigma Cebu and Deftac Cebu, was one of the highlights in the Baguio fight card after he knocked out Buminaang with a ferocious knee strike in the 1:13 mark of the opening round.

Donayre is known for his expertise in the ground games but he surprised everyone with his knockout win. With this, Donayre can now fight for the lightweight title of the URCC vacated by One FC Light weight champion Honorio Banario of Baguio.

The win also improved record of Donayre to 5-0 (win-loss). Earlier this year, he defeated Mindanao’s Allan Atup in URCC Cebu VIII-Survival at the J Center Mall Convention Center via submission. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
