Dimsum Frito 2003 on a streak

DIMSUM Frito 2003 cruised to its fourth straight win when it downed Jepoy ’99, 47-39, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Thursday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Joel Catipay led the onslaught with outstanding numbers of 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals to help the team remain as one of two undefeated squads in this competition.

Mark Eugene Bukiron charted 21 points on top of 12 rebounds and two steals, but his singular outburst wasn’t enough as Class ’99 fell to 4-3 (win-loss) in a tie with JV Shop ‘n Shop, which nailed its fourth win in seven games at the expense of PTT 2005, 49-37.

While nobody reached twin digits in scoring, Class ’97 displayed great team effort in downing 2005.

FEATURED STORIES

Timothie Tan and Aubrey Ibones had nine points each and connived for 16 rebounds and four assists for Class ’97.

Class ’97 led by only two at the break, 16-14, but blew the game open using a sizzling 16-6 run in the third quarter. Class 2005 never recovered from there on the way to absorbing its sixth straight loss.
