Suspected NPA rebels attack police post in Misamis Oriental
MANILA, Philippines—A group of armed men believed to be members of the New People’s Army members attacked the headquarters of the Philippine National Police’s Regional Public Safety Battalion in Misamis Oriental before dawn Friday, police said.
Police said the group attacked the headquarters in Lagonglong City at around 3:30 a.m. but failed to take anything from the post after policemen manning it returned fire.
No one was reported hurt in the firefight which lasted for about 10 minutes, police said.
