P200,000 worth of properties gutted in Manila Film Center fire

MANILA, Philippines—Roughly P200,000 worth of properties was destroyed when fire gutted a portion of the Manila Film Center in Pasay City Wednesday evening, a city fire officer said.

Fire Officer 3 Luisito de Guzman, said investigators have yet to establish what caused the fire that struck the building’s Amazing Show theatre shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The fire reached fifth alarm before it was put out at 9:50 p.m.

Around 70 people were rehearsing inside the theater when they heard loud popping sounds, prompting them to immediately vacate the building, reports said.
