MCC honors employees, highlights achievements

THE  Mandaue City College honored staffmembers who have served the city government-owned school since its inception five years ago.

Dr. Teresita Inot, MCC president gave the awards on Valentine’s Day, consisting of a plaque of recognition and P10,000 cash to eight members of their faculty and staff who worked with the school since 2007.

The awardees were: Dr. Susana Cabahug, OIC dean, College of Education; Dr. Leo Acibar, asst. administrator for academic affairs; Clarissa Ylaya, cashier; Diana Alegrado, registrar; Irene Mamites, records officer; Alfredo Cuyos, Filipino Instructor; Richard Perez, Instructor in Industrial Technology; and Joel Cortes, driver and messenger.

Aside from handing the awards, the Valentine’s Day cum MCC teacher’s day also featured exhibits by the four college, namely, College of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business Administration, and Industrial Technology.

Students showcased best practices in their respective courses like the subdivision and high rise building design by Drafting and Computer Technology students.

Inot also highlighted the impressive academic performance of the Business Administration college and the high passing rating in licensure examination for teachers of their College of Education.

Now the school has grown to about 850 students with 30 teachers and 10 non-teaching personnel.

The MCC was founded when Mayor Jonas Cortes won as mayor in 2007. /Jucell Marie P. Cuyos, Reporter
