Red Durano vows to keep campaign clean
Fifth district Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI yesterday promised that his family will not resort to personal attacks against his two uncles when the campaign period for local positions starts next month.
Durano said he and his father will stick to issues in Danao in order to win the support of the people.
He mentioned the proliferation of illegal drugs and several killings in the city, which were not solved under the term of his uncle, Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr.
Red is running for vice mayor while his father, Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III will gun for the mayoralty seat.
They will be going up against the tandem of Nito’s two brothers, Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr and runningmate Jesus “Don” Durano, who was the city’s former mayor.
“As much as possible, sa among mga organizational meetings, we don’t go into personal issues, we go into issues concerning development of the city of Danao”, he said.

Article continues after this advertisementRed also said they will raise some anomalies in the management of economic enterprises in the city, like the fish port, bus terminal and public market.
“The unsolved killings in Danao were because of the proliferation of drugs. We will also raise the issue of the management of the economic enterprises in the city like the fishport, bus terminal, public market, which is very anomalous”, Red said.
Danao City is one of the watchlist areas of the PNP in the coming election.
So far, Red said, Danao City remained peaceful and there’s no untoward election-related incident.
That’s why he said, he didn’t see the need to place the city under the control of the Commission on Election (Comelec).
“I’m hoping and praying that come campaign period, it will remain peaceful. But I don’t think there’s a need to place the city under Comelec control, as of now, we did not see any election-related violence in Danao. /Jhunnex Napallacan, Correspondent
