Lapu Million Volunteers Run attracts 3k runners

A TOTAL OF 3,789 runners joined yesterday’s  Million Volunteers Run of the Philippine Red CrossLapu-Lapu Cordova chapter.

The run was held in three separate venues in Lapu-Lapu and was part of a nationwide simultaneous event of the PRC.

Five-kilometer and 3k distances were offered in the fun run at the Hoopsdome while only a 3k category was available for event at the Cordova Municipal Hall and Olanggo Island town hall.

PRC Lapu-lapu Cordova chapter administrator Vicjay Gonzal said the Maribago national high school was the biggest school delegation while J. Cledd Industrial Services Inc. had the most runners from a company. The Lapu-Lapu City Police Office was awarded the most runners for LGU.

Meanwhile, the top 10 finishers in the 3k yesterday at Lapu-Llapu were Julius Kinaadman, Mark Vincent Matoy, Frankie Beloy, Megie Sumodlayon, Nollan dela Cerna, Daryl Cono, Keneth Jay Gariando, Markly Violeta, Marlou Llado and Clienth Pacana, respectively.

In the distaff side, the top 10 were Rothil Anne Alzate, Hyacinth Mae Cipres followed by Keinth Archie Sanoy, Claire Mariz Clemen, Jovelyn Bactulan, Vanessa Amante, Delibeth Galo, Marlie Abecia, Vangie Berdin and Krishia Mae Telempros.

In the 5k category, Harison Tumulak finished first follwoed by Gerald Batanao, Rodie Biro, Jason Morrel, Dario Bilad, Victor Monsanto, Ereneo Arong, Baltazaar Ocampo Jr., Robert Betonio and Pepito de Vera.

Aires Estremos won the 5k female title followed by Cordlie Altizo, Noemie Mandal, Evie Alburo, Helen Berdon, Sharon Suico, April Grace Escarpe, Alma Tunacao, Zydin Otarra and Wilna Lynn Albanida.

In Olanggo Island, The 3k  top five male winners were run Carlito Lepalan,  Jessie Christ Salvador, Alejandro Estellore Jr., Erwin Taneo and Otelio Ilustrisimo.

In the female side, Cressia Mae Damgo was first followed by Merry Jane Arabis, Jannena Mae Sagarino, Elizabeth Noval and Jane Karen Da-Ancosta.

In Cordova, Adones Alsola came in first in the 3k while Wilfredo Cataraja, Fernando Abastillas, Marjun Baguio and Cerilo Panares followed him.

Jean Dalumpines placed first in the the 3k distaff side followed by Rhun Rhun Pogoy, Carmil Jean Aytona and Rochel Tirol. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
