Warriors’ North team prevails over southern counterparts
THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos North maintained their veil of invincibility as they dominated their sister team the University of San Carlos South, 24-11, in the under-10 division of the 2013 ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup last Saturday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
The match was a rematch of the finals last year but the boys from the North campus played stellar basketball all-game long to remain undefeated in two games while sending USC South to its second straight defeat.
In other games in the same division, SHS-AdC bounced back following an opening day loss to Cebu Eastern College with a 32-3 massacre of the University of San Jose-Recoletos B. CEC kept its record clean with a 24-10 win over USJ-R.
In the under-13 A division, SHS-AdC won its second game in a row after beating USJ-R A, 34-27 while UV kept in step, also notching its second straight win with a 54-28 victory over Don Bosco A. Defending champion USC destroyed SHS-AdC B, 70-17 for a clean 2-0 (win-loss) record early in the competition.
The under-13 BB class saw Thumbs Up clobber USC South B, 35-21.
The developmental class of the under-16 age group also saw action with UV B winning over the grade school CVIRAA team, 71-62 while the University of Southern Philippines Foundation battered Nissi Academy, 49-32, in the BB category.
