Unilink Shipping logs 5th straight win in Powerball
THE Cromwell Kwan-led Unilink Shipping claimed its fifth straight win by routing Romeo Faunillan’s Therese Sportswear, 125-102, last Sunday in the ongoing Powerball Basketball Tournament at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Gym.
Power forward Richard Arco flexed his muscle in the paint and fired 24 points while Pol Quiñanola scattered 23 points spiked by five triples as Unilink kept its immaculate record intact.
Also coming up big were Mobe Anadon, Hendrell Saliz and Tobruk Vidal, who added 16, 12 and 12 for Unilink which banked on a 14-2 run in the third period to lead by as many as 20 points.
Danrey Baclay led the losing team with 25 markers.
In the other game, New Millenium Hardware of Raymond Gollon blasted Powerball-Orange team of Carlos Yee, 102-72, for its third win in as many games.
Peter Ceniza paced New Millenium, firing six trifectas to finish with 27 points while Lester Dajao added 22 points. Peter Arsola led Powervall-Orange with 25 points, while Carlos Yee added 20.
Article continues after this advertisementThe league, which started last Dec. 9, 2012 with four competing teams, follows a double round robin format in the elimination round with the top two teams advancing to the championship round.

In its opening ceremonies, the league elected its new set of officers where Kwan was president, replacing Quiñanola.
Christopher Rey Caruana was elected vice president, James Ylaya secretary, Carlos Yee treasurer and Hendrel Saliz auditor.
Games are played every Sunday starting at 9 a.m. at the CEC Gym.
