Big Chill battles Café France in PBA D-League today
THE BIG CHILL Superchargers aim to gain some momentum heading towards the playoffs when they battle the Café France Bakers in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Superchargers saw their chances of gaining outright entry into the semifinals slip away after losing their last two games.
However, with 10 days of rest before today’s encounter, Big Chill hopes to put all that behind them and come away with a victory at the end of their preliminary round campaign.
In the other game at 4 p.m., Boracay Rum [4-5] aims to cap its four-game win-streak with an all-important win against Fruitas [4-5] to secure their place in the quarterfinals.
Fruitas’ chances to make the next round is quite complicated although the Shakers could clinch a quarterfinal berth if they win against the Waves coupled with victories by Big Chill against Café France and JRU against Cebuana Lhuillier at the close of the elimination round on Thursday.
The Bakers are tied with Boracay Rum, Cebuana Lhuillier and Fruitas with 4-5 [win-loss] records and need an all-important win to close its elimination round assignment to advance in the quarterfinals. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
