Antipolo City man bags P40-M lotto prize

A cargo forwarding service supervisor from Antipolo City hauled in the most precious load of his life on Thursday, when he claimed the check for the P40.9-million jackpot prize in the Jan. 23 6/55 Grand Lotto draw.

The man emerged as the solo winner who got the lucky combination 23-16-24-54-21-08.

Picking up his check at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office headquarters in Pasay City, he recalled that when he was watching the draw on TV, he already jumped for joy when he hit five of the six numbers and told his wife that he was happy with a P150,000 consolation prize.

“It was already enough for me,” he told PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas. Fate, however, had bigger plans for the couple. The winner said he would invest part of the money in his current business, save for their only child’s education, and give a significant donation to the local church. Jaymee T. Gamil
