NDRRMC: Flood victims in Mindanao rise to 245,000
MANILA, Philippines – Affected persons in Mindanao floods caused by incessant rains spawned by the tail-end of a cold front the past few days rose to about 245,000 persons, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Wednesday.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 59,304 families or 245,487 persons affected in nine provinces in Davao region, Soccksksargen and Caraga.
There were 83,266 persons still served in shelters, the NDRRMC added.
The number of fatalities remained at six, while four persons were still missing.
Damaged houses were at 276, with 35 of which totally damaged.
Although the tail-end of a cold front has weakened, it will continue to affect Eastern Visayas.
