Aman Futures founder nabbed in Malaysia
MANILA, Philippines—Emmanuel Amalilio, founder of Aman Futures, which figured in a widespread Ponzi scheme in Mindanao and the Visayas, has been arrested in Kota Kinabalu in the east Malaysian state of Sabah, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima confirmed on Wednesday.
She said Manuel Amalilio is already in the hands of Malaysian authorities.
“The Philippine embassy is already coordinating with the Malaysian police for his immediate deportation,” De Lima said adding that the copy of the warrant of arrest from the Pagadian Court is with the Malaysian police.
She said the National Bureau of Investigation is already working to secure Amalilio’s custody.
“He will be deported. He is a Filipino Citizen,” she said. With a report from Nancy Carvajal, Philippine Daily Inquirer
