Village councilor hurt in vehicle blast

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A village councilor was injured when an explosion hit his vehicle while it was traversing the national highway here around 3 p.m. Monday, reports reaching the police said.

Investigators said they were still uncertain what caused the explosion that ripped through the Mitsubishi Strada that Sinawal village councilor Alberto Bantilan Jr., 75, was driving.

Bantilan’s two companions in the vehicle were unhurt.
