Davao floods affect 27,000 – OCD
MANILA, Philippines – Over 27,000 individuals were affected by floods dumped by heavy rains in Davao region the past few days due to a tail-end of a cold front.
A report from the Office of Civil Defense Region XI Monday afternoon said 7,589 families or 27,063 persons were affected by floods in several municipalities in the provinces of Davao del Norte, ComVal, and some villages in Davao City.
In Cateel, Davao Oriental alone, there were 4,404 families or 15,965 persons affected by floods in the villages of Alegria, San Miguel, San Alfonso, San Vicente, Baybay, Taytayan and San Rafael.
Cateel was one of the hardest hit by Typhoon Pablo (international name Bopha) in December.
Roads and bridges in Davao del Norte and Davao Oriental were also reported to be impassable.
