Adamson gets 6-foot-10 African
THE AFRICAN invasion continues as this time, the Adamson Falcons secured for themselves a 6-foot-10 banger that can make a difference in the now wide-open race for the UAAP crown this year.
According to a report on Spin.ph, the Falcons have in their fold Cameroonian center Ingrid Sewa, who is expected to help with the scoring role left by former Mythical Five member Alex Nuyles.
Sewa has turned heads in offseason tournaments and most recently, the Sandugo-University Games, which was held in Bacolod City late last year.
Sewa adds to the impressive list of foreign talents from Africa that have made their mark in local collegiate basketball. These include Ola Adeogun, of San Beda, Happi Noube of Emilio Aguinaldo College and Femi Babayemi and Nosa Omorogbe of Perpetual Help in the NCAA.
In the UAAP, there’s Anthony Hargrove of Far Eastern University, Emmanuel Mbe and Henri Batayene of National University and last year’s MVP runner-up Karim Abdul of the University of Santo Tomas.
Even Cebu has not shied away from the trend with Southwestern University boasting of Ben Mbala and Justin Aboude while the University of the Visayas has Steve Akomo.
