Deal inked for modified conditional cash transfer

THREE non-government organizations (NGOs) in Cebu have signed an agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) for their children beneficiaries to be covered under the  Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) program.

Bidlisiw Foundation has 1,000 children beneficiaries, Forge International has  1,300 beneficiaries and Share-A-Child Movement  has 1,400 beneficiaries.

The Bidlisiw Foundation, Forge International and Share-A-Child Movement, represented by their executive directors Lolit Ganapin, Orlando Carvajal and lawyer Nina Valenzona respectively, signed the MCCT agreement after having passed the screening about their financial and legal capacity as well as social dedication.

The Modified Conditional Cash Transfer will increase the reach of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program in order to help families and children that are in difficult situations and overcome such situations and be able to mainstream them into the regular CCT program or popularly known as Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

It is a modified approach designed to maximize the reach of the Conditional Cash Transfer Program for the purpose of helping the streetchildren reunited with their families and bring them back to school.
