Foundation turns over day care center to Balamban barangay

TSUNEISHI Foundation (Cebu) Inc. (TFCI) turned over a one-storey three-classroom day care center to barangay Buanoy in Balamban, southwest Cebu last Dec. 17.

Present during the turnover ceremony were Buanoy barangay captain Pedro Agustines Jr., TFCI president Hitoshi Kono, mucipal social welfare representative Lucina Milan, Balamban Mayor Ace Stefan Binghay, Vice Mayor Rosie Binghay and parents and teachers of Buanoy Day Care Center.

“We are grateful to have been given the opportunity to become part of this endeavor. We are very happy with the full support we are getting from the local community,” Kono said. “We believe in the youth being the future leaders,” he added.

The foundation will continue to build more schools to improve the level of education in Balamban.

Mayor Binghay thanked the foundation for its contributions not only to the Balamban, but also the neighboring towns.

Barangay captain Agustines and Vice Mayor Binghay led the unveiling of the marker for the new day care center.

A total of 146 pupils will benefit from the new day care center. The pupils also received a school bag with school supplies.

“Our quest to inculcate in the minds of our young pupils the importance of education is once again reinforced by generous people and institutions like the TFCI. This is a great accomplishment to uplift the quality of education in our barangay,” Ms. Montecillo, a Buanoy Central School teacher, said.

Also last Nov. 10, the foundation turned over a birthing center to Asturias town in northwest Cebu. This brings to 10 the total bed capacity of the Asturias birthing center.

Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia witnessed the event.
