Police finally caught up with Pangasinan province’s third most wanted man when an elusive Orlando Saguiped was arrested in Pasig City over the weekend.
Saguiped was arrested on Saturday by men from the Pasig City Police Station Warrant and Subpeona Section and Pangasinan policemen at Villa Caruncho, Barangay San Miguel, where he works as an electrician.
He had a standing warrant of arrest issued on Dec. 9, 2002,by Pangasinan Regional Trial Court Judge Ulysses Raciles Butuyan on a murder charge, with no recommendation for bail.
The suspect had been accused of killing the husband of his sister-in-law, according to Chief Inspector Jesus Manalo Jr. of the Pangasinan police.
The victim had been shot in the head with a 9mm pistol, Manalo said. A .38 caliber revolver had been placed in the victim’s hand to make it appear that a duel had taken place, he added.
An investigation showed that Saguiped, of Lifehomes Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, had been falsifying documents to conceal his identity as he moved from one place to another, police said.
