Cebu-based teams shine in Cetba Nat’l Open

CEBU-based teams grabbed the top places in the Team event after completing 10 games in the Fourth Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) National Tenpin Open held at the SM Cebu Bowling Complex, yesterday.

Chanieka took the top spot followed by Virgo Financing and Prime Movers in the second and third spots, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Bowling Association of Las Pinas (BALP) toppled 5,496 pinfalls to lead squads which played just five rounds yesterday. Despite the five-game handicap, BALP positioned itself in the 14th spot while its B team downed 5,238 pinfalls.

Imus Tenpin Bowling Association (ITBA) grabbed the 20th spot after five games with 2,860 pinfalls followed by Bacolod’s Sugarbowl Tenpin Association (STAI)-I at 21st place with 2,846 pinfalls.

Ilo-lio Tenpin Bowling Association (ITBA) meanwhile, is in 22nd spot with 2,844 pinfalls while BALP and ITBA placed 24th with 2,817 pinfalls. Davao Tenpin Bowling Association is at 26th spot with 2,776 pinfalls.

Meanwhile, Manila teams are expected to flex their muscles today as they start their 5-game sked.

Twenty-two out-of-town teams from Luzon and Mindanao are competing in the tournament which offers P15,000 to the team champion with 22 coming from Cebu.

Aside from the team competition, participants will also battle for top honors in the Masters event which has a whopping P50,000 cash prize.
