CITE orients partners on dual training system
THE Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE) has conducted an orientation on the dual training system (DTS) last June 29 for industry partners.
The school employs the DTS scheme in its three-year industrial technician program, wherein students experience technical-vocational education in two venues.
The students are trained in school for 15 months to hone their technical aptitude. Another 15 months will be spent for the in-plant training where students will be exposed to real-job scenarios.
Having seen DTS as the best way to provide competent manpower to its partner industries, CITE re-tooled the focal persons in the field of human resources and technical departments on the new deployment procedures, system monitoring and evaluation of the trainees. The orientation also underscored the importance of in-plant supervisors in the formation of the trainees.
CITE, which adopted the trimester system this school year, sees the DTS orientation as a venue where they can introduce the continuing education program for its alumni.
