Gubernatorial candidate wants more cockfights

IF elected this gubernatorial candidate wants to improve existing cockpits and develop some more around the province of Cebu.

“Dili angay ikauwaw nako nga mosulti nga palambuon ang sabung o mga buwangan kay kini tradisyon sa mga Pilipino, dili na ta Pilipino og ato ning tangtangon,” said Boyet Cortes.

(I’m not ashamed of this plan. We need to develop cockpits because cockfighting is part of Filipino tradition.)

He said, cockfighting could also boost to our tourism as it may attracts foreigners. In the barangays, cockfighting can also be a source funds during fiestas.

“Try abolishing cockfights in the country, the next day, we will have another president,” Cortes warned.

He also plans to improve the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo and will call it “a heart of Cebu” and create an agro-tourism zone authority to develop the countryside.

Cortes, a former media man, has a block time program in DYAB titled “Lets do business.” He also has a weekend TV program ABS-CBN focusing on livestock raising and his favorite — breeding fighting cocks.
