Another cop arrested for threatening people with gun
MANILA, Philippines—A day after the Caloocan City police arrested a police officer for pointing a gun at a teenager, another cop was caught doing the same thing, this time at barangay (village) watchmen.
A rookie cop was arrested Sunday night after pointing a gun at seven members of a barangay watch in Caloocan City.
Police identified the suspect as Police Officer 1 Mark Anthony Motil, 26, who was assigned at the Navotas Police station and is a resident of Sunflower Street, Camarin, Caloocan, and the complainants as Edgar Dalt, Jose Castel, Wilson Escolo, Lino Joven, Policarpio Diola, Agapito Romero and Arnulfo Bocalbos, members of Barangay Police Action Team (BPAT) of Barangay 177, Camarin.
The case investigator PO2 Alcee Jumaquio of the Caloocan City Police-North Extension Office (NEO) said Motil pointed his gun, cursed and shouted, “You are all conceited” at the barangay police at around 9 p.m. at the Barangay 177 outpost on Matapang Street corner Carnia Street, Camarin.
The complainants immediately called for police assistance, which led to the arrest of the suspect, Jumaquio added.
Recovered from the suspect was his .9 mm-cal. pistol.

On Saturday night, Police Senior Inspector Jun Fortunato of the Quezon Police District’s Talipapa station was arrested for mauling and pointing his service firearm at a teenager in North Olympus, Barangay 172, Caloocan City, but cases against him were dropped.
