3 LABORERS NABBED FOR DRUGS

THREE workers of a cement factory were caught carrying packs of suspected shabu in barangay Pitalo, San Fernando town, southern Cebu.

Arrested were Romulo Bertuldo, 37, Rodolfo Surigao, 38, and Nico Manlangit, 19.

Four small sachets of white powder  and drug paraphernalia were seized from the four men, said Insp. Gerard Pelare of San Fernando police.

Pelare said patrolling policemen spotted the three men acting suspiciously past 2 a.m. yesterday. One of the three men ran but was chased and cornered.

Police frisked the three men and found them carrying suspected drugs.

2 MEN HURT IN BADIAN SHOOTING

TWO men were shot and wounded by gunmen on board a Starex van in a highway in barangay Banhigan, Badian town, southwest Cebu.

Reneboy Tariao, 39, a resident of Danao City and Jayson Puebla, 30, of Compostela town, were wounded in the legs.

Police said the two men were headed for Compostela on board a motorcycle driven by Tariao when they were shot by assailants on board a parked Starex van past 3 p.m. last Thursday.

PO1 Carlito Zulueta of  Badian police said the victims drove to the town’s police station to report the shooting.

Police set up a checkpoint but failed to intercept the assailants.
