2 robbery suspects arrested

TWO men were arrested shortly after a jeepney robbery in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

The suspects, Bianvinido Calvo, 34, and Joel Pacabis, 42, are both from Ormoc City, said Senior Insp. Franco Rudolf Oriol, chief of Subangdaku police.

Police said Calvo and Pacabis robbed two jeepney passengers in M.C. Briones Street around 8 p.m. last Tuesday.

Taken in the robbery were P3,700 cash and a cell phone. Police said when the robbers got off the jeepney, the victims shouted for help.

Policemen deployed in the area noticed the commotion and chased the two men. Police recovered a kitchen knife and a hand-rolled marijuana stick from Calvo, while Picabis yielded a .22 revolver and five marijuana sticks./CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
