Jenjic ends UTASSCO’s 4-game streak in Power 40 Christmas hoop

JENJIC Commando stopped the four-game win streak of league-leader Utility Assurance Corp. (Utassco), 73-62 Tuesday night in the Power Forty Basketball Club (PFBC)-2012 X’mas basketball tournament at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym.

The two protagonists fought closely resulting in a 15-all tie in the opening period, but Utassco posted a 12-10 run in the second to rule the half, 27-25.

The Commando regained the upperhand at the end of the third, 45-43 after a 20-16 run then formalized its win with a, 28-19 rally in the fourth to improve to 4-2 win-loss record.

Joel and Jun Canete led Jenjic Commando with 26 and 13 points, respectively while Wewe Cabrera and Flor Yosores paced Utassco with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

In the other game, Park n’ Go Bakeshop led from start to finish in drubbing winless Alfa Electrical, 76-60.

Bull-strong center Erik Abatayo and Al Misa led Park n’ Go with 16 points apiece while Noel Flordeliza and Joel Jaca paced Alfa Electrical with 20 and 18, respectively.

Earlier, Water Market routed Ang Tibay Mo, 59-41, to even their records at 3-2 with former USP Panther Caloy Lim and Domie Ozon scoring 15 and 12 points, respectively. Rey Mabalcon and Jun Sumargo paced Ang Tibay Mo with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
