Palicte faces Magos for WBO AsPac Youth crown

ASTON “Mighty” Palicte (10W-0L, 8 KOs) of the Jason Soong Stable of Makati City will fight Romnick Magos (7W-2L, 3 KOs) of the Rex ‘Wakee’ Salud (RWS) Boxing Stable of Cebu City on Dec. 1 at the Bonifacio Naval Station (BNS) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. They will dispute the WBO Asia Pacific Youth flyweight title.

Palicte was earlier reported to be fighting Daryl “Flash” Basadre. Last August, Palicte won by TKO in 59 seconds of the opening round against Mark Joseph Costa in Mandaluyong City. Magos lost by unanimous decision in Thailand last August against Rusalee Samor in his bid to win the IBF Pan Pacific flyweight title. Magos’ last registered win was in February when he beat Roemart Sentillas by unanimous decision in a blood soaked battle held in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Fighting in the supporting bouts are newly crowned WBO Asia-Pacific bantamweight champion Fredirex Rodriguez Singwangha of the Roy Kaamenio Stable of Bukidnon vs. Dino Lelis of the Lelis Boxing Stable of Batangas; Gabriel Royo Singwangcha of the Top Contender Stable of Muntinlupa vs. Rex Olisa of the Reyes Boxing Stable of Ortigas; Albert Alcoy (Top Contender Stable) vs. Rolando Niones (Brother’s Boxing Stable); Aljhon Osabel Singwangcha(Ariscon); vs. Sonny Gonzales (Tiger City); Richard Claverias (Ariscon); vs. Ian Ligutan (Mix Depot); and Geovanie Escaner vs. a still to be named opponent.
