BPAT member killed by snatcher awarded
POLICE yesterday gave a posthumous award to the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) of Labangon, who was shot dead after responding to a snatching alarm.
Police gave a plaque and P2,000 cash to Antonieta Alcibar, wife of the late Yolando Alcibar.
Yolando was shot dead by one of three snatchers he chased in barangay Sto. Nino on Oct. 21.
The shooter was riding a bike, blocked his path and shot him in the mouth in V. Gullas Street.
His death, however, remained unsolved as the assailant wasn’t arrested or identified.
BPAT are volunteers who inform police of illegal activities in their barangays.
