Cebu City Children’s summit a success

THE successful staging of the 15th annual Children’s Summit with the theme “Batang Cebuano, Batang Aktibo” was held last Oct. 24 and 25 at the Cebu Grand Convention Center.

In line with the Children’s Month celebration, the summit was attended by at least 450 children from the different Cebu City barangays, academe and  non-government-organizations in Cebu City.

It featured topics like the Power of You, Responsible Social Media – Think before you click, Reviving Filipino culture and values, True Love Waits and God in You.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama delivered the 2012 State of the Children’s Report during the summit. He pointed out that the rights and responsibilities of the children must go together.

The activity is mandated by the United Nation Convention of the Rights of the Child. The Cebu City Commission for the Welfare and Protection of Children and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation facilitated the month-long celebration.
