THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) joined the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in a march rally against illegal gambling and other illegal activities at the Fuente Osmeña Circle on Oct. 25 at 8 a.m.

CCCI president Prudencio Gesta and CCCI executive director Buddy Villasis walked with the city policemen headed by CCPO Director Melvin Ramon Buenafe and participants from the academe, youth, business sector and socio-civic organizations from four starting points – Ayala Business Park, Cebu Normal University, Cebu Capitol and V. Rama Avenue  – to the Fuente Osmeña Circle where the rally was conducted until noon.

The multi-sectoral rally aimed to promote awareness on the evil effects of illegal gambling and other illegal activities to the students, youth and the community, as well as to generate support in the fight against illegal gambling in Cebu.

The activity was in line with CCCI’s advocacy towards Cebu’s global competitiveness wherein a peaceful, orderly and a secure community is critical to sustaining the growth of Cebu’s business and society.
