A 66-year-old woman from Masbate on Thursday claimed half of the P88 million jackpot in the 6/55 Grand Lotto draw on October 20 after she picked the winning number combination of 37-38-24-33-35-32.

When she went to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Pasay City to pick up her check for P44 million, the winner admitted to PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas that it was only her third time to buy a lotto ticket.

According to her, it was her husband, a regular bettor, who infected her with the lotto bug.

She added that she was thankful to God for all the blessings He had given her and in gratitude, she said she plans to donate part of her winnings to the Church. The rest would go to building a house for her husband and brood of six children.

Rojas said they were still waiting for the other winner who had placed a bet in an outlet in the Mountain Province to claim the other half of the jackpot prize.—Jaymee T. Gamil
