The reigning champions Ateneo Blue Eagles grabbed their second win in as many games after defeating the Holy Cross of Davao City, 94-67, in the men’s basketball tournament of the Sandugo-University Games at the Tay Tung High School in Bacolod City.

The Blue Eagles were once again made to work for the win as they saw their 19-point lead nearly evaporate in the face of a strong comeback by Holy Cross.

Ateneo led, 43-24, and were up 46-29 at halftime when the Davaoenos went on a three-point shooting spree that got them within four, 50-54. But Kiefer Ravena and the rest of the Blue Eagles recovered with Juami Tiongson’s three-pointer giving them a 71-56 lead at the end of the third canto.
