Man burns own house

A 29-year-old man burned down his house in sitio Toong, Caduawan, Tabogon town in northern Cebu after a spat with his wife.

Maximo Cannencia surrendered to the police after the incident.

Investigation showed that Cannencia got angry after his wife left their house without asking permission from him after they argued. In his anger, police said Cannencia got a piece of wood, made it into an improvised torch, lighted it, and threw it on the house’s roof which was made of light materials.

The house caught fire with his six children still inside. Fortunately, his neighbors rescued his children. /Correspondent Joy C. Quito
