Alas fires 45 in Letran’s win over San Sebastian
Kevin Alas put up a sterling performance as he led the Letran Knights to a 92-74 rout over the San Sebastian Stags in yesterday’s Final Four game of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Alas scored a career-high 43 points spiked by a 10-of-13 shooting clip from beyond the arc to tow the Knights to a crucial win that extended their season to a rubbermatch set tomorrow.
Calvin Abueva had 21 points for the second-seeded Stags, who had a twice-to-beat edge over the Knights in the semis.
The winner of the Stags-Knights series takes on the San Beda Red Lions, who advanced to the Finals for the seventh year in a row after getting past the Perpetual Help Altas, 56-52, in their own Final Four affair.
Ola Adeogun, picked the perfect time to notch his best game of the season as he had 23 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots.
