QUEZON PROVINCE—Two suspected members of a money counterfeit syndicate were nabbed in Atimonan, Quezon, on Monday, police said.

P02 Oliver Andrey, Atimonan police investigator, said Melanie Mendoza and Danilo Bacanto Jr., both Antipolo City residents, were arrested on Monday evening after trying to dupe a store owner by paying fake P1,000 bills for her purchases.

Mendoza was arrested by barangay officials who were alerted by the store owner, said Andrey.
