GUNS SEIZED IN DANAO
UNFINISHED firearms were seized in a shanty in barangay Sabang, Danao City, northern Cebu.
No one was arrested when Danao City policemen made the confiscation around 2 p.m. last Monday.
Supt. Ricky Delilis, chief of the Danao police, said his men were patrolling the area as part of their anti-illegal gambling operations when they spotted a group of men hurriedly leaving a nipa hut.
Police inspected the shanty and found at least 10 unfinished .45 pistols on top of a table.
Police said each pistol could cost P12,000.

MAN SHOT BY COUSIN, HURT
A 55-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded by his cousin after they argued in barangay Cawayan, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Abelardo Dicdican was wounded in the chest.
Antonio Dicdican, 56, the alleged assailant, was arrested by police after last Monday’s incident.
PO2 Godofredo Glepa, desk officer of Dalaguete police, said the victim was standing outside a neighbor’s house when he was confronted by Antonio.
Antonio accused his cousin of using his motorcycle without asking permission from him and returning it with a flat tire.
At the height of the argument, Antonio drew a gun and shot Abelardo.

STUDENT DIES IN ROAD MISHAP
A CRIMINOLOGY student was killed after the motorcycle he drove rammed into a parked truck in barangay Pitalo, San Fernando town, southern Cebu.
Niño Caballero, 26, a resident of barangay North Poblacion, San Fernando, suffered injuries in different parts of the body. He was declared dead when he was brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital.
SPO2 Victor Cuyno, desk officer of San Fernando police, said Caballero was heading to Naga City when the accident occured at dawn yesterday.
Police said Caballero may have failed to see the truck parked at the side of the road.
The driver of the truck, Richard Cañete, surrendered to the police after the incident./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
