MAN HIT BY BUS, DIES
A 56-YEAR-OLD man was killed after he was hit by a minibus while he was crossing the road in barangay South Poblacion, Naga City, southern Cebu.
Police identified the fatality as Julius Yu Basalna of barangay Colon, Naga City.
Basalina was hit by the bus past 5 a.m. yesterday.
PO2 Crisnio Camumo of Naga City Police said the minibus driver Jason Lapas, 35, was released after he and the victim’s family reached an amicable settlement./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
THEFT SUSPECTS CHARGED

Article continues after this advertisementPolice said Jetson Sueles of barangay Tulay, Minglanilla town confessed that he was involved in the robbery of a food chain outlet at Gaisano Country Mall early this year where P102,590 was taken.
Sueles and a 17-year-old boy were arrested last Sunday after they allegedly stole P167,104 from the vault of Jollibee in SM City-Cebu.

SHOT
AN unidentified assailant shot and wounded a barangay councilor in barangay Agsuwao, Catmon town in northern Cebu last Saturday evening.
Losifino Pontillas, 33, was shot in the right leg and was rushed to the Don Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod town.
Pontillas was walking home after work in the barangay hall when he heard a shot, then suddenly felt his leg go numb.
