Minor, brother flee after killing

A 14-year-old high school student and his older brother are being sought by the police after they attacked and stabbed dead another teenager during a drinking binge in Quezon City Sunday morning.

The duo—Randy Supat, 21 and his younger brother—went into hiding after the killing of Jeffrey Bunyao, a resident of Fatima Street in Barangay Commonwealth.

Bunyao was declared dead on arrival by attending doctors at Fairview General Hospital due to a stab wound in the chest.

Case investigator Police Officer 2 Julius Balbuena of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said the stabbing happened at 2:30 a.m. near the victim’s house.

Earlier, Bunyao and three of his neighbors, including the Supat brothers, were having drinks when the victim and the elder Supat started arguing and trading punches.

According to the police, the younger Supat took out a knife and stabbed Bunyao in the chest. The brothers then fled after the victim slumped to the ground.

Bystanders tried to save the victim by bringing him to the nearest hospital but their efforts proved futile as Bunyao died along the way.
