Arroyo files COC for Pampanga representative
MANILA, Philippines — Despite her poor health condition, former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has filed her certificate for candidacy (COC) on Wednesday as a re-electionist in her second district.
Her spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn told reporters through a text message that Arroyo asked her son Ang Galing Partylist Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo to file her COC.
Arroyo was resting on orders of her doctors.
Television reports showed Arroyo’s son showing up at the Comelec office in San Fernando, Pampanga to file the COC on her behalf. Speculation has it that Arroyo’s daughter Luli would replace her in running for a seat at the House of Representatives if the former president is too ill to do so.
Horn has earlier denied this, saying that Luli will not be running in place of her mother.
