LP vows ‘decency, honor and integrity’ in 2013 polls
MANILA, Philippines – The Liberal Party on Monday vowed to launch a campaign that is marked with “decency, honor, and integrity.”
President benigno Aquino III Aquino was present when the LP-led coalition formally introduced its candidates for the 2013 senatorial race composed of re-electionist, former and incumbent, senators, government officials, among others.
LP president on leave Mar Roxas, in his opening speech, said the group would approach the coming elections with “decency, honor, and integrity.”
The candidates are Liberal Party members Paolo Benigno Aquino, the President’s cousin; former senators Jamby Madrigal and Ramon Magsaysay Jr.,; re-electionist senators Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano, Aquilino Pimentel III, Antonio Trillanes IV; Aurora Rep. Juan Edgardo Angara; former Las Piñas Representative Cynthia Villar; Akbayan party-list member Risa Hontiveros; and censors chief Grace Poe Llamanzares.
The other candidates of the LP-led senate slate come from the Nacionalista Party, the Nationalist People’s Coalition, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan, Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, and Akbayan.
