MANILA, Philippines — Former president and now Manila mayoral candidate Joseph Estrada is expected to file on Tuesday his certificate of candidacy at the Commissions on Elections office, accompanied by his running mate, reelectionist Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, his media officer said Sunday.

The two United Nationalist Alliance candidates will lead a motorcade at 9 a.m. from Estrada’s house on Manga Street, Sta. Mesa, to the Comelec office near Manila City Hall, Angel Gonong said in a text message.

The Liberal Party candidates, incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim and his vice mayoral bet, Councilor Lou Veloso, on the other hand, will file their certificates of candidacy on Monday (Oct. 1), according to Lim’s chief of staff Ric de Guzman.

Thirty-six candidates for councilors will join Lim and Veloso in a Mass at the Freedom Triangle of Manila City Hall at 7 a.m. to be followed by the regular flag-raising ceremony before going to the Comelec office on Arroceros Street.

The six reelectionist Manila congressmen — Benjamin Asilo, Carlo Lopez, Naida Angping, Trisha Bonoan-David, Amado Bagatsing and Sandy Ocampo — who pledged support to Lim will file their COC at the Comelec office in Intramuros.
