The CNU, on its third consecutive year, won the news reporter of the year for their investigative journalism entry about quarrying in a mountainous barangay.

This year, the organizers spiced up the contest’s mechanics, giving birth to “Campus Patrol: The News Coverage.”

“We want this year to have something new. We also felt that the old mechanics were too long, traditional and bland. The students reported the same thing over and over again. This year’s new mechanics gave variety,” said Annie Fe Perez, Cebu Alliance of Mass Communication (CAMS) president.
