DepEd launches campaign on K+12
THE Department of Education (DepEd), together with Philippine Business for Education, Australian Agency for International Development, United States Agency for International Development and SM Supermalls recently launched the Greater Opportunities (GO) education campaign to promote the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
During its launching in SM City North Edsa, DepEd said that through the project, the public will easily understand how the Go! Education program can help provide solutions to increase the competency of our public school teachers, improve the basic education curriculum to be at par with global standards and build more classrooms and other learning facilities.
The Go! Education program engages SM mallgoers in an interactive overview of the new K+12 program and the Philippine education system by systematically tackling major areas of concern — teaching competency, curriculum improvement, infrastructure development and proposing solutions that will help elevate the state of Philippine education.
In SM City Cebu, the exhibit will run from Sept. 22 to 23 at the Event Centre.
Go! Education roadshows will also be held in SM Manila, Oct. 6 and 7; SM Iloilo, Oct. 20 and 21; SM Bacoor, Nov. 3 and 4; SM Pampanga, Nov. 17 and 18; and SM Mall of Asia, February 2013.
