/ 01:23 AM September 20, 2012

One of the three detainees who bolted from the detention cell of the Kamuning police station in Quezon City surrendered Wednesday to a congressman and claimed that it was not his intention to escape.

Jedi San Luis, 22, said he had sore eyes and was feverish when the jailbreak happened before dawn Monday. “He claimed he was just pulled by the other detainees [who were] fighting their way out,” Quezon City Rep. Jorge “Bolet” Banal said. San Luis who is facing drug charges went to Banal’s office at the House of Representatives at 9 a.m.

Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., Kamuning police station commander, said they were still looking for Ruel Dantes and Jestoni Tributo, the other escapees.

San Luis was later turned over to Pedrozo, Chief Superintendent Mario de la Vega of the Quezon City Police District and Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina of the National Capital Region Police Office.  Julie M. Aurelio
