9 temporary City Hall workers flunk drug test

NINE workers of the Cebu City’s Parks and Playgrounds Commission initially tested positive in a surprise drug test yesterday.

Five casual employees and four job-order workers admitted that they were using  shabu before the  urine tests were  conducted.

The results still have to undergo a confirmatory test to be conclusive.

Parks and Playground Commission acting chief Arlie Gesta said that he was surprised by the results of the test conducted by the Cebu City Office on Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) because he didn’t expect  six of them are drug users.

The results  will be sent to Manila for another stage of confirmatroy tests.

If the  results are still positive, the report will be submitted to the city’s Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) and City Legal Office for  action. The workers woud face dismisal or non-renewal of their contracts /Correspondent Tweeny M. Malinao
